Kwadaso MCE Distributes 3,000 Birds to Farmers Under Nkoko Nketenkete Program
The Kwadaso Municipal Assembly has distributed 3,000 live birds to 150 smallholder farmers as part of the government's Nkoko Nketenkete program.
Each farmer received 20 pullets for the start of the program
The program aims to improve poultry production and boost the local economy.
According to the MCE for Kwadaso, Hon. Eric Assibey, the farmers underwent comprehensive training before receiving the birds.
He disclosed this during the distribution ceremony on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
"Prior to this presentation, we met all the 150 individuals and provided them with comprehensive training," he said.
Hon. Assibey commended President John Dramani Mahama for the initiative, stating that it has been oversubscribed at the assembly due to its benefits to the public.
The program is part of the government's efforts to encourage backyard farming and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
