Kwadaso Assembly Boosts Sanitation with New Waste Containers

  The Kwadaso Municipal Assembly has taken steps to improve sanitation in the municipality with the commissioning of four waste containers at strategic locations to help reduce littering. The initiative is aimed at ensuring proper waste disposal and maintaining a cleaner environment for residents. Speaking to OTEC News at the commissioning on March 31, 2026, the Municipal Chief Executive, Eric Assibey, said the move is intended to strengthen the sanitation system and reduce the cost of clearing waste that is often left to pile up on the ground. He explained that keeping refuse in designated containers would make collection easier and more efficient, instead of relying heavily on machines to clear scattered waste. Hon. Kwadaso Assembly Supports PWDs with Tools and Cash Boost

  The Kwadaso Municipal Assembly has donated working tools and financial support to 50 Persons with Disabilities within the municipality, as part of efforts to improve their livelihoods and promote self-reliance. The items presented included deep freezers, laptops, sliding door cutting machines, hand sewing machines, and industrial machines, and cash for beneficiaries in need of medical care and educational support  Speaking at the ceremony held on March 31, 2026, at the Assembly, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Eric Assibey, said the initiative is aimed at empowering persons with disabilities who are willing to work but lack the necessary resources. Asanko Extends $400m Contract with Rabotec to Deepen Local Participation in Mining

The agreement represents an extension and expansion of an ongoing contract between the two companies, following Rabotec’s strong performance over the initial contract period.  The company demonstrated consistent delivery across safety, production and operational reliability, providing the basis for the expanded scope. Lands Minstry Launches Competitive Bidding to Secure Future of Damang Mine

  The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources announces that the Damang Mining Lease, held by Abosso Goldfields Limited (a subsidiary of Goldfields Limited), will expire on 18th April 2026 after a one‑year extension.  To ensure the mine’s continuity, the Government has initiated a competitive bidding process to secure a credible investor and operator for the mine.   Leaders of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and members of the Minority Caucus in Parliament have paid a solemn visit to the founder of the Hebron Prayer Camp, following the tragic death of his two sons in last week’s fatal aircraft crash in Tema.
