Nsuopun Fidelity FC Owner Marks Birthday with Huge Donation to Two Orphanage Homes

  Nana Kofi Boateng, President of Nsuopun Fidelity Football Club, has donated items worth hundreds of Ghana cedis to two orphanage homes in the Eastern Region.  The Division One Football Club Owner made the presentation on Thursday, February 26, 2026, while marking his    birthday celebrations.  The items    includes essential items such as bags rice, bixes biscuits,boxes    tomato paste, dozens of packs    soft drinks,    vegetable cooking oil and more. Addressing the orphanage homes, Nana Boateng emphasized the importance of collective efforts in supporting the needy.  He stated, "Supporting the needy must be a collective effort by well-to-do individuals in society."  He also pledged to continue supporting the youth in Ghana through various activities, including football. WWE Star Kofi Kingston Organises Asante Twi Debate for Kwadaso Students

  Renowned WWE star Kofi Kingston has launched a debate competition in Asante Twi for schools in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Ghana.  The competition, organized by the Kofi Kingston Library and Digital Center in collaboration with the Ghana Library Authority, brought together schools from the Atwima Takyiman - Denkyemuoso and Tanoso Electoral Areas. Ministry Of Land And Natural Resources Pledges to Safeguard Wildlife Protected Areas, Wildlife with Enhanced Legislation

  The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources (MLNR) has emphasized its commitment to safeguarding protected areas and wildlife in the country with enhanced laws.  As part of efforts, the Ministry has engaged stakeholders on a draft Legislative Instrument designed to operationalize the Wildlife Resources Management Act, 2023 (Act 1115). Held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, the consultative workshop brought together individuals from academia,    state and private institutions who discussed the draft Legislative Instrument.  Technical Director of Forestry at the Ministry, Joseph Osiakwan, underscored the Ministry's commitment to ensuring laws guiding their operations are well-positioned and implemented. Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources Engages Stakeholders Wild Life Resources Management Act 2023,(Act 1115)

  The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, has held a consultative workshop on the Wildlife Resource Management Act 2023 (Act 1115) for stakeholders from five regions.  The workshop, held in Kumasi on Thursday, February 19, 2026, brought together traders, food vendors, technocrats, NGOs, lawyers, journalists, and other stakeholders to discuss a draft Legislative Instrument to operationalise the Wild Life    Act  Speaking to OTEC news, Technical Director of the Forestry, of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources Mr. Joseph Osiakwan, said the Ministry has developed a legislative instrument to operationalize the Act.  He explained that the instrument will consolidate all wildlife laws, make sanctions more punitive, and incorporate emerging issues and global trends to provide a modern framework for the sector. KTI Gets Boost as PTA Hands Over Mechanized Borehole and Renovated Reservoir

  The Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) in the Ashanti Region has handed over a mechanized borehole and renovated water reservoir to the school.  The new facilities are expected to improve the institution's water supply for both students and staff. Addressing the audience during the handing over ceremony on Thursday, February 19, 2026, PTA Chairperson Mr. Lowford Achemfour Boateng said the restored reservoir and newly drilled borehole will ensure a more reliable water supply.  He urged stakeholders to continue supporting the school for improved outcomes, adding that the PTA will keep providing help to enhance teaching and learning. Kwadaso MCE Distributes 3,000 Birds to Farmers Under Nkoko Nketenkete Program

  The Kwadaso Municipal Assembly has distributed 3,000 live birds to 150 smallholder farmers as part of the government's Nkoko Nketenkete program.  Each farmer received 20 pullets for the start of the program   The program aims to improve poultry production and boost the local economy. According to the MCE for Kwadaso, Hon. Eric Assibey, the farmers underwent comprehensive training before receiving the birds.  He disclosed this during the distribution ceremony on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.  "Prior to this presentation, we met all the 150 individuals and provided them with comprehensive training," he said. Hon. Assibey commended President John Dramani Mahama for the initiative, stating that it has been oversubscribed at the assembly due to its benefits to the public.  The program is part of the government's efforts to encourage backyard farming and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.

Former Energy Minister Dr. Boakye Agyarko Donates to NPP's Nasara Wing Ahead of Ramadan

  Former Energy Minister, Dr. Boakye Agyarko, has donated items worth thousands of cedis to the Nasara Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in preparation for the sacred obligation of fasting among Muslims during Ramadan.  The donation, made at the party's headquarters on Tuesday , includes bags of rice, sugar, and boxes of disposable cups, and was handed over to the National Nasara Coordinator to support Muslim members of the party. According to Dr. Agyarko, the gesture is a virtuous deed, citing a Hadith that emphasizes the importance of assisting the community during Ramadan.  He also made a similar donation to the party's office in Nima-Ayawaso East Constituency, ahead of the upcoming by-election. Dr. Agyarko praised the preparedness of the candidate, Baba Ali, and the support from party executives and members.  The donation is seen as a show of solidarity with Muslim members of the party as they observe Ramadan.

Kofi Job And Wife Esther Gyebi Donates GHC21,000 to Save Premature Twins

  Renowned road contractor, Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job, and wife, Mrs. Esther Gyebi, have extended a helping hand to a mother of twins who was in dire need of financial assistance to save her premature babies. Through the Kofi Job Foundation, the couple donated GHC21,000 to support the treatment of the twins, two boys born prematurely and requiring oxygen and other medical interventions. Admitted at Ruma Fertility hospital at Denkyemuoso, the twins' parents had been struggling to access finance for their treatment, prompting them to seek help from the philanthropic couple.  Following their plea, Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job and his wife responded promptly, presenting the donation to the mother of the twins on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Management of SSNIT Meets Pensioners on New Live Certificate Renewal Policy

  Management of the Social Security and National Insurance Scheme (SSNIT) has engaged Regional and District Executives of Pensioners’ Associations in the Ashanti Region to sensitize them on a new pensioner certificate renewal policy aimed at sanitizing the pension payroll and protecting benefits meant for rightful beneficiaries. The policy, which targets old-age and invalidity pensioners, introduces an annual live certificate renewal process designed to confirm the number of living pensioners, eliminate ghost names from the system, and prevent pension payments from being made into the accounts of deceased beneficiaries. According to SSNIT, the scheme has in the past paid pensions to over 31,000 individuals whose benefits ended up in the wrong hands, a situation the new policy seeks to prevent.
