How Ashanti Regional Minister's Social Media Presence Revolutionizes Info Flow

 




The maiden Ashanti Media Summit, held recently, brought together media professionals, stakeholders, and government officials to discuss ways to promote credible journalism and project the Ashanti Region. 


As a panel member, I had the honor of sharing my thoughts on the impact of social media on information dissemination, particularly referencing the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene's, innovative approach to communication.


Dr. Amoakohene's decision to leverage social media platforms has transformed the way information flows from his office to the ordinary citizen. 


His proactive online presence has filled a significant gap in communication, providing citizens with timely updates on government plans, ideologies, and success stories.


The Minister's social media initiative has been instrumental in reaching a wider audience, including hundreds of Ghanaians who may have otherwise been disconnected from government activities.


 Through sharing credible information, he has created a platform for informed discussions, leaving little room for speculation and misinformation about his office bringing governance closer to the public 


This approach has also facilitated a better understanding of government policies among media practitioners, enabling them to accurately shape the narrative in the region. 


The Minister's commitment to social media engagement is a testament to his dedication to transparency and accountability.


During the summit, I commended Dr. Amoakohene for his efforts and encouraged him to continue leveraging social media to keep citizens informed about governance issues in the region. 


His online presence has undoubtedly championed the cause of the Ashanti Region, promoting the work of the government, President John Dramani Mahama, and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).


The Minister's social media strategy has set a positive tone for government-citizen engagement, demonstrating the power of digital platforms in enhancing transparency and accountability.


 Dr. Amaakohene has shown that he is a leader who values citizen participation and is committed to keeping them informed.


As a result of his efforts, the Ashanti Region has witnessed improved communication, with citizens having direct access to information from the source. 


This has fostered a sense of inclusivity, allowing citizens to engage with government initiatives and provide feedback.


The Ashanti Media Summit provided a valuable platform for discussing ways to promote media credibility and ethics.


 As a media practitioner, I believe that Dr. Amoakohene's social media initiative is a shining example of how government officials can harness digital tools to enhance communication and promote transparency.


The Minister's approach should be emulated by other government officials, as it has proven to be an effective way to reach citizens and promote government programs.

Kumasi Technical Institute Receives Completed First Phase of PTA Renovation Project

  The Parent Teacher Association of the Kumasi Technical Institute has officially handed over the first phase of a major renovation project to school authorities in the Kumasi Metropolis. Phase One of the project includes the painting and expansion of the school’s dining hall, the painting of the administration block, science block, and boys’ dormitory, as well as the provision of new dining hall tables and benches. The PTA also supplied a public address system and supported the expansion of the school’s auditorium. A/R: Concerned Small-Scale Miners Allege Harassment and Extortion by Police,Calls for Probe

  Members of the National Concerned Small Scale Miners at Manso-Watreso and other communities in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region are alleging harassment and extortion by police officers from Bekwai under the Ashanti South Regional Police Command. The miners in a statement on Monday alleged that officers from the command regularly visit sites belonging to members of the National Concerned Small Scale Miners Association to carry out operations and, in the process, allegedly collect money from miners without justification.  Some affected miners claim the officers often remove the number plates of the vehicles they use during these operations, making it difficult to properly identify them or authenticate the operations.
