GHART Pushes for Local Auto Production at Innovation Seminar
The Ghana Heavy Duty Artisans Association(GHART) under the GARAGES umbrella, has held a major innovation seminar aimed at boosting youth employment and promoting local manufacturing in the country’s automotive industry.
The event took place at the Suame Municipal Assembly on November 28 , 2025 which forms part of a two-phase training and exhibition program designed to highlight Ghana’s capacity to produce high-quality auto parts and technical machinery locally.
The seminar featured an impressive display of items manufactured by Ghanaian artisans — including universal joints, cooling systems, fuel injector analyzers, compression gauges, and even battery-grade acid mixtures.
Speaking at the event, the Assistant Head of Department for the Heavy Duty Department at Kumasi Technical Institute, Charles Osei, commended the program. He emphasized that Ghana is blessed with talented artisans and that institutions like KTI are committed to supporting the development of locally engineered machines and tools.
According to him, all participants, including students and invited guests, left the seminar equipped with valuable knowledge to help advance the industry.
Today’s seminar, he said, is a strong demonstration of Ghana’s growing potential in automotive manufacturing and technical innovation — and a major step toward empowering the nation’s youth.
