Ashanti GJA, RSF Germany to Train Journalists on Safe Environmental Reporting for World Environment Day
The Ashanti Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association, in partnership with Reporters Without Borders Germany, will mark World Environment Day 2026 with a training programme to equip journalists with skills for safe and responsible environmental reporting. The initiative targets selected journalists and aims to strengthen their capacity to report accurately on environmental issues while protecting themselves, especially when covering high-risk areas such as illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey. “Journalists play a key role in shaping public understanding and promoting sustainable development through accurate and ethical reporting.
