Stanbic Bank Ghana Reaffirms Commitment to Heritage and Community Development at Asantehene Invitational Tournament

 


Stanbic Bank Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to heritage, sports, and community development at the 17th edition of the Stanbic Asantehene Invitational Tournament.


 The event, held at the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi on Saturday, December 13, 2025, brought together about 20 golfers and customers of the bank to honor His Majesty the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.


The Asantehene led the ceremonial tee-off alongside top management members of Stanbic Bank Ghana.



Addressing participants, Mawuko Afadjenu, Executive Head of Marketing and Branding for Stanbic Bank, emphasized the tournament's purpose:


 "At Stanbic, our purpose is that Ghana is our home and we are driving its growth."

 Afadjenu highlighted the bank's belief in excellence and cultural diversity, stating, "At Stanbic, we believe in excellence, cultural diversity to thrive economic development, so our support for this program for over 17 years shows our respect for the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei II."



He also noted the bank's commitment to its customers, saying, "We also value our customers, hence the move to bring them on the golf field to commune, create a sense of community, and drive individual growth.


" The bank will continue supporting individuals, groups, and companies across various sectors, urging the public to visit their branches for tailored solutions.



Professor Bernard Kofi Baidoo, Head of Operations for the Royal Golf Club, praised Stanbic Bank Ghana for the tournament, calling it one of the most sought-after events due to its level and prestige.


 He commended participants, emphasizing the opportunities available in such events.

Kumasi Technical Institute Receives Completed First Phase of PTA Renovation Project

  The Parent Teacher Association of the Kumasi Technical Institute has officially handed over the first phase of a major renovation project to school authorities in the Kumasi Metropolis. Phase One of the project includes the painting and expansion of the school’s dining hall, the painting of the administration block, science block, and boys’ dormitory, as well as the provision of new dining hall tables and benches. A/R: Concerned Small-Scale Miners Allege Harassment and Extortion by Police,Calls for Probe

  Members of the National Concerned Small Scale Miners at Manso-Watreso and other communities in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region are alleging harassment and extortion by police officers from Bekwai under the Ashanti South Regional Police Command. The miners in a statement on Monday alleged that officers from the command regularly visit sites belonging to members of the National Concerned Small Scale Miners Association to carry out operations and, in the process, allegedly collect money from miners without justification.  Some affected miners claim the officers often remove the number plates of the vehicles they use during these operations, making it difficult to properly identify them or authenticate the operations.
