WWE Star Kofi Kingston Organises Asante Twi Debate for Kwadaso Students

 


Renowned WWE star Kofi Kingston has launched a debate competition in Asante Twi for schools in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Ghana. 


The competition, organized by the Kofi Kingston Library and Digital Center in collaboration with the Ghana Library Authority, brought together schools from the Atwima Takyiman - Denkyemuoso and Tanoso Electoral Areas.


Participating schools included Atwima Takyima Presbyterian JHS, Tanoso Anglican JHS C, Atwima Denkyemuoso M/A JHS, and Sefa Boakye International JHS. 



The debate centered around major motions, including ways to protect the environment from illegal miners, road accidents, poverty, and related social vices. 



In a televised address, Kofi Kingston encouraged students to read more and pay attention to their native languages, emphasizing the importance of focusing on their future and reading widely for more knowledge.


The CEO of Click Foundation and Kofi Kingston's mother, Dr. Elizabeth Sarkodie Mensah, pledged the organization's continuous support to students in the area. 


She commended teachers and students for their participation in the debate competition.


The Municipal Chief Executive for Kwadaso, Hon. Eric Assibey, praised the organizers for the competition, underscoring the need for students to prioritize reading, especially their local dialects.


 He pledged the assembly's support for the Kofi Kingston Library and Digital Center to help students in the area.


The competition ended with Tanoso Anglican JHS C wining the ultimate price 


Participants were giving medals and prices for their participation. 


 The debate aimed to promote critical thinking, public speaking, and civic engagement among students, while also highlighting the importance of environmental protection and social responsibility.


The Kofi Kingston Library and Digital Center is expected to continue organizing similar initiatives to support the educational development of students in the Kwadaso Municipality.


The event was well-received by participants and attendees, who praised Kofi Kingston and the organizers for their efforts to promote education and youth development in the region.
