ECG Management Tours Ashanti Region Power Projects, Pledges Reliable Electricity Supply
The Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has toured ongoing power infrastructure in the Ashanti Region.
The tour, led by ECG Managing Director Engineer Kwame Kpekpena, was part of efforts by the company to ensure constant supply of power to consumers in the Ashanti Region.
Engineer Kpekpena assured Ghanaians of improved and more reliable electricity service as ECG rolls out strategic measures to tackle persistent power outages affecting homes and businesses across the country.
According to him, ECG has implemented a series of precautionary and corrective interventions aimed at minimizing frequent power cuts and stabilizing supply to support economic activities and daily life.
The inspection covered key ongoing projects including the Ridge Substation, Ejisu (Emina), Fumesua, and Abuakwa.
He explained that the visit was to assess the progress of work, identify operational challenges, and ensure immediate solutions are implemented to fast-track project completion.
He emphasized that these projects are essential to strengthening the region’s power distribution network and reducing unplanned outages.
“ECG is committed to delivering efficient and dependable electricity services,” Engineer Kpekpena said. “We are prioritizing investments in infrastructure to meet growing demand.”
Supporting this commitment, Head of Special Projects at ECG in Accra, Engineer Kwabena Bediako, issued a strong warning against cable theft.
He called on the public to remain vigilant and help safeguard critical power infrastructure.
“Cable theft undermines our efforts to provide stable power,” Engineer Bediako stated. “We need the public’s support to protect these installations.”
