Access Bank donates GHS 50,000 to support Ashanti Regional GJA Press Centre Project

 

Access Bank has donated fifty thousand Ghana Cedis to the Ashanti Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association to support its Press Centre Project.


The donation was announced during the Access Bank Media Soiree held at Lancaster Kumasi City on May 12, 2026.


Speaking at the event, Managing Director of Access Bank, Pearl Nkrumah, emphasized the importance of information and education in the operations of the bank.



According to her, this donation aims at empowering journalists for  and support them in dessemination of information and education to the public 

  

“We believe in promoting the right knowledge and ensuring that accurate information reaches customers and the general public. Supporting the media remains one of the best ways we can contribute to national development,” Mrs. Nkrumah said.


She added that empowering journalists will help improve the dissemination of credible and timely information.


“The media plays a vital role in the activities of the bank and remains an important partner in communicating our services and initiatives to the public,” she noted.


The Ashanti Regional GJA Press Centre Project is expected to provide a conducive working environment for journalists in the region and strengthen media practice.


President of the Ghana Journalists Association, Kofi Adu Domfeh, described the donation as a surprising and timely gesture towards the completion of the project.


“We are grateful to Access Bank for the support and assure that the funds will be used for their intended purpose. This contribution will help speed up work on the project to provide a conducive working environment for journalists,” Mr. Adu Domfeh said.


He also appealed to other institutions and stakeholders to support the completion of the facility.
