A/R: “You don’t deserve to lead NPP for engaging in politics of insults” — Netizens blast Kokofu

Some netizens have descended on former Bantama MP, Kwabena Kokofu, accusing him of engaging in politics of insults ahead of the NPP’s Ashanti Regional Executive elections.

The netizens say Mr. Kokofu, who is aspiring for the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship position, does not deserve to lead the party, and are calling on him to step down.

Mr. Kokofu is reported to have said, “We need a leader who communicates well, and not someone who has money and a violent type,” a comment seen as a direct jab at his main contender.

He is said to have made the remark on Kumasi-based Angel FM.

Reacting to the comment, some netizens said Mr. Kokofu has “descended into the gutters.”

One comment read: “If you can speak well, go and contest for regional communications officer. The chairmanship is reserved for a seriously focused, consistent and visionary person.”

The comment from Mr. Kokofu has sparked public anger, with many urging NPP members to reject his bid to lead the party.
