McDan Group CEO Pledges Jobs and Education Support for Zongo Communities During Kumasi Mosque Visit
The Chief Executive Officer of McDan Group, Dr. Daniel McKorley, popularly known as McDan, visited the Central Kumasi Mosque on Friday to worship with the Muslim community and engage residents.
The engagement was part of his efforts to designing development initiatives for Zongo communities.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. McKorley said he was fulfilling a promise made during a previous trip to support and empower women and youth in Zongo areas.
He disclosed that his company is working to employ women and youth from Zongo communities who are interested in the salt business.
“The development of Zongo communities is important to me, and I remain committed to supporting women and empowering the youth whenever the need arises,”, he said.
Dr. McKorley also revealed that he had provided educational sponsorship for some students in Zongo communities and returned to monitor their academic progress.
Speaking on behalf of the Ashanti Regional Zongo Chief, Shaibu Amdy Suleman expressed gratitude to the businessman for his continuous support.
He noted that McDan has, over the years, sponsored several Zongo students, especially females, through education.
Shaibu Amdy Suleman further explained that the salt business support system allows women to take salt for trading and repay the money later without interest, easing the financial burden on traders.
The visit forms part of Dr. McKorley’s broader commitment to social impact and community development in Zongo areas across the country.
